Product updates for 2012-03-23

I tweeted some days ago that big updates were in the pipe, and that pipe spouts here. The list of updates is long, so I'll discuss some of the general updates, then provide an alphabetic product breakdown with additional discussion where necessary. In general, what I've got are some core updates and changes to CE2 engines, some LR4 compatibility fixes, some new features, etc. So, let's get on with this ...

For CE2 engines, I've updated the core navigation options. The font-style, font-weight, text-decoration and text-transform settings now properly apply to drop-down style menus, and the dividing lines between menu items may now be removed. The currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions -- currently only available when enabling our Facebook Open Graph Protocol integration -- are now a part of the core source code and included in all PHP pages; some galleries conditionally export either HTML or PHP depending on configuration, and these functions will be defined in all pages exporting as PHP. This exposes these functions for general use in PHPlugins. TTG CE2 Pages and TTG CE2 Stage also make use of these functions when embedding HTML5 video.

Forms -- password logins, contact forms, etc. -- have been redesigned in all CE2 engines except TTG CE2 Theme for WordPress. The new forms are more streamlined, more responsive, and cater better to LR4's limited CSS3 preview capabilities.

All gallery engines which create mobile galleries no longer create 480-pixel mobile image renditions; mobile galleries now load the large-size image renditions. In the recent era of high-resolution mobile displays -- the iPhone 4 and 4S, the new iPad, many Android phones -- these image renditions are no longer useful. See my recent blog posts for more discussion of these matters.

TTG AutoViewer v1.3

The TTG AutoViewer Flash gallery has been updated to create thumbnail image renditions. While not used by the gallery itself, these thumbnail images may be used by the TTG CE2 Pages Galleries page, TTG CE2 Auto Index or the mobile gallery in TTG CE2 Stage.

TTG CE2 Auto Index v5.2.2

  • Fixes to the auto index 'Iconic, Entitled' layout having to do with Album Titles and the new-ish Background Coverage option.
  • Added option to remove menu dividers in drop-down menu.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Redesigned login form for password-protected pages; new design slightly more streamlined, more responsive, and meant to better address CSS3 compatibility shortcomings in the Lightroom 4 APE web-browser.
  • Navigation font-style, font-weight, text-decoration and text-transform settings now properly apply to drop-down style menus.

TTG CE2 Cart v1.5.5

  • Set z-index:100 for the cart widget.
  • Added option to remove menu dividers in drop-down menu.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Navigation font-style, font-weight, text-decoration and text-transform settings now properly apply to drop-down style menus.

TTG CE2 Highslide Gallery v4.1.4

For the Highslide gallery, the tablet version of the gallery has been removed. Now that the mobile gallery uses large-rendition images, the separate tablet layout is no longer necessary. The Fotomoto implementation has been redesigned as well, and we have combined the Purchase and Share buttons into a single all-purpose button on the thumbnail grid.

  • Fixed 'Advanced Sliders' option for Highslide Settings border-radius controls, which were breaking.
  • Fixed conflict between CE2 Cart and Google Maps integration.
  • Retooled Fotomoto implementation; ditched Share icons/buttons.
  • Added option to remove menu dividers in drop-down menu.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Fixed typo in Google Maps implementation.
  • Mobile gallery now uses large rendition images.
  • Engine no longer generates 480-pixel “photos-for-mobile” renditions.
  • Engine no longer generates tablet.html/php gallery for iPads and tablets; tablets now use mobile.html/php instead.
  • Mobile gallery now displays 8 images across on tablets instead of 5.
  • Redesigned login form for password-protected galleries; new design slightly more streamlined, more responsive, and meant to better address CSS3 compatibility shortcomings in the Lightroom 4 APE web-browser.
  • Navigation font-style, font-weight, text-decoration and text-transform settings now properly apply to drop-down style menus.

TTG CE2 Horizon v3.1.0

  • Added Google Maps support.
  • Added option to download image files.
  • Added option to remove menu dividers in drop-down menu.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Mobile gallery now uses large rendition images.

TTG CE2 Pages v5.2.2

I have revisited the HTML5 video embed methods for this update. Previously there were three: HTML5, HTML5 + Video JS and the JW Player Flash video player with an HTML5 fallback; these are all gone now. There is now only a single, improved HTML5 video embed method. It is no longer necessary to download and install JW Player during Pages setup; we are not using it at all. Also, by simplifying the HTML5 video support, we have eliminated a huge amount of overhead, which should translate into improved overall performance for the engine. How much of a difference these performance improvements will make in site creation is likely to vary from one user to the next.

  • Consolidated HTML5 video embed options to parallel newer developments in TTG CE2 Stage.
  • Have done away with JW Player both as a standalone embed method and as Flash fallback for HTML5 video.
  • Fixes to the auto index 'Iconic, Entitled' layout having to do with Album Titles and the new-ish Background Coverage option.
  • Added option to remove menu dividers in drop-down menu.
  • Put footer gradient control back into Lite version.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Redesigned contact form; new design slightly more streamlined, more responsive, and meant to better address CSS3 compatibility shortcomings in the Lightroom 4 APE web-browser.
  • Navigation font-style, font-weight, text-decoration and text-transform settings now properly apply to drop-down style menus.

TTG CE2 Photoswipe Gallery v1.1.2

  • Retooled Fotomoto implementation; ditched Share icons/buttons.
  • Added option to remove menu dividers in drop-down menu.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Fixed typo in Google Maps implementation.
  • Mobile gallery now uses large rendition images.

TTG CE2 Stage v4.0.1

  • Added CSS3 background gradient control to the footer, the block and the grid.
  • Mobile gallery now draws thumbnails from the full-size images folder for MonoSlideshow and Slideshow Pro on account of the galleries' thumbnails being too small for the mobile gallery's use.
  • Moved currentPageURL(), currentPageLocation(), currentPageName() PHP functions into main source, exposing them for generic use; previously only available when enabling Facebook OPG integration.
  • Killed mobile redirect when embedded galleries from Slideshow Pro Director.

TTG CE2 Theme for WordPress v1.1.2

  • Border-radius (rounded corners) now previews in LR4.
  • Changed “No Comments” to “Leave a Comment”; it's a little more positive sounding.

TTG MonoSlideshow v2.0.0

Two big points for the MonoSlideshow engine. First, it's now Lightroom 4 compatible. Second, it's now FREE to download. Do note, however, that it is still necessary to purchase the MonoSlideshow Flash gallery separately from www.monoslideshow.com.

  • Lightroom 4 compatible.
  • MonoSlideshow 2.16 compatible.
  • Added new thumbnail rendition for use by TTG CE2 Pages “Galleries” page, TTG CE2 Auto Index and TTG CE2 Stage mobile gallery.
  • Images now export with All metadata intact.

TTG SimpleViewer v2.3.0.1

Direct download available.

  • Images now export with All metadata intact.
  • Bug fixes.

Of further interest ...

I have officially begun a development branch for TTG CE2 Client Response Gallery, so that's now underway.

I actually didn’t send updates this time around. You can access the new versions using any prior download URLs, or you can lookup your order(s) by number in the sidebar.

    • Matt says:

Then you will need to contact me privately with your purchase information so that I can locate your orders. The Find Your Order bit in the sidebar requires both your email address and order numbers to locate your downloads.
