CE4 Documentation

Welcome! Here you will find all of the information necessary to get up and running with The Turning Gate's CE4 series of plugins for Lightroom, and lots of additional information besides.

You may visit our older documentation for information about using our CE3 or CE2 version plugins.

Getting Started w/ CE4

Courses

The CE4 Plugins

Core Elements 4 (CE4) is a component system. Galleries may be used standalone or to supplement your existing website, or combined with other CE4 components to create a complete, cohesively-designed website, an e-commerce system for selling photo prints online, or to facilitate image proofing with clients. The CE4 system is powerful, flexible and extensible like nothing else available for Lightroom, or anything else for that matter. And yet we've made it as easy to use as we possibly can; so easy that anyone can setup their own website with nothing more than time, tinkering and the information contained in this documentation. All you need to do is determine the pieces you need to attain your vision of what your website should be, then put in the time to surmount the learning curve.

Universal Setup

TTG BE

One login to rule them all … TTG BE is our unified back-end for CE4 Pages, Publisher and Cart, from which various options and features are configured. It is a required component for these plugins, and is included in the purchase of each. Setup is relatively simple and should be a one-time job.

CE4 Auto Index

CE4 Auto Index allows you to organize your various image galleries under a single location, acting as a table-of-contents for all the galleries on your site. Best of all, the auto index updates automatically to list new galleries as you add them!

CE4 Cart

CE4 Cart brings shopping cart functionality to CE4 galleries. It works together with CE4 Gallery and other CE4 plugins, allowing you to sell your images and products on desktop and mobile browsers, with support for downloadable and physical products administered from an easy-to-use, Web-based interface.

CE4 Client Response Gallery is designed to facilitate communication between the photographer and client following a shoot. The gallery allows the client to make and submit image selects and feedback to the photographer's email.

CE4 Gallery is our flagship gallery plugin for Lightroom, displaying image thumbnails in a mobile-friendly, responsive grid and supporting various Lightbox effects for large image presentation. The gallery is built on modern Web standards (HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery; no Flash!) and includes flexible design and presentation options, social media integration and e-commerce features.

CE4 Pages

CE4 Pages creates the foundation of your photography website, a set of static web pages to frame and support your image galleries. The plugin creates up to six pages: Home, Galleries, Services, Info, About and Contact. A single image gallery is supported, which allows you to greet visitors with a set of your best images, usually as your Home page; a single gallery index allows you to corral your image galleries for perusal. Flexible design options allow you to customize page layout, branding, colors, typography, navigation, social networking, and more. Whether building your first photo website or your hundredth, CE4 Pages is the best tool to streamline your Lightroom-to-website workflow, and to create a website you can take pride in.
